Adults

Education is important to all members of Plymouth, and we recognize that learning does not stop when we graduate from school.  We see ourselves as in the process of becoming, and as such we seek to continue to explore our spirituality while learning about ourselves and the world and the God whose love is made new for us each day.

untitledWe are a people of the book, seeking wisdom from scripture, and believe that “God is still speaking” to us anew in this time and place.  We read the bible seriously, but not literally, and we seek new ways to explore our faith through everyone from the mystics to historical theologians to today’s voices.

Some of the opportunities to explore issues of faith and life at Plymouth include:

  • Adult education: Bible studies, issues of the day discussion groups, and other opportunities are available, and we are always open to new initiatives;
  • Book Group: meets monthly to discuss selected works of fiction and nonfiction that uplift  and/or make us ponder our place in the world from many perspectives;
  • Lay Academy: many of our members have participated or are currently participating in the Wisconsin Conference’s Lay Academy, an opportunity for folks to delve more deeply into scripture and church-related issues for personal growth or to discern where their spiritual journey is leading to next.
